Divisions

​

UHCA welcomes riders of all levels, providing eleven challenge divisions and a schooling class, allowing riders to compete against others riding at a similar level. Each division will be offered at all events. 

 

Divisions include:

  • Young Guns: Riders ages 5–11

  • 1st Year Young Guns: Riders ages 5-11. It is designed for new riders to learn more about the sport and compete against riders of the same skill level. 

  • Youth: Riders ages 12–17

  • 1st Year Youth: Riders ages 12-17. It is designed for new riders to learn more about the sport and compete against riders of the same skill level. 

  • Ride Smart: Riders age 55 or older

  • Novice: Riders who have not previously earned performance points or money

  • Colt: Horses/Mules ages 3–4

  • Intermediate: Non-professional riders only, Riders over the age of 18

  • Non-Pro: Non-professional riders only,  Riders over the age of 18

  • Open: Open to all riders over age 12, regardless of experience or status

  • Ultimate Open: Open to all riders over age 12. The horse and rider must have entered another division at the same race.

  • Schooling/Lead-Line/ In-Hand: Open to all riders over age 5, designed for riders and/or horses to gain experience in a non-competitive environment.

UHCA Events are co-sanctioned with the Extreme Cowboy Association (EXCA), and EXCA members can receive qualifying points. To receive EXCA points at a UHCA Event, the rider must be a member of EXCA and pay a $15.00 fee for points transfer.
